Infrared Sauna

We are now offering sessions in our Golden Designs Infrared Sauna. Experience deep relaxation and detoxification in the body & mind. A session in the infrared sauna is the perfect complement to a massage or acupuncture treatment!

How it works

Infrared saunas differ from traditional saunas in that they use infrared radiant energy to directly penetrate into the body’s tissue to produce perspiration.

Traditional saunas use steam to heat the air inside the sauna, which then heats your body until you begin to perspire. Infrared saunas utilize a lower temperature to obtain the same effect making the environment more tolerable and allowing you to breathe easier.

Benefits

Because infrared rays penetrate the body, there is a deep heating effect in both the muscle tissues and internal organs without putting too much burden on the heart. Through the perspiration process, acid and waste residue like toxins, sodium, alcohol, nicotine, cholesterol and potentially carcinogenic heavy metals are removed from the cells (especially zinc, lead, nickel, cadmium, etc). Additionally, by opening the pores and discharging waste products by shedding old skin cells skin tone is enhanced with improved elasticity, texture and color.

Additional benefits include:
-pain relief from rheumatoid arthritis
-muscle spasm relaxation
-increasing blood circulation
-cardiovascular conditioning
-clears rashes, acne
-reduces cellulite
-removes toxins and mineral waste
-reduces stress and fatigue
-enhances skin tone
-helps you sleep easier and deeper

FAQs

  • It is recommended to start with 15 to 20 minute sauna sessions and gradually work up to longer sessions around 20 to 30 minutes. It is considered safe to use the sauna daily; however, if you are new to infrared sauna sessions, starting with 2 to 3 sessions per week is ideal.

  • Wear minimal clothing like undergarments or a swimsuit with a towel wrap which we will provide for you. This allows for better skin exposure to the heat.

  • It is recommend to leave any electronics outside of the sauna. The heat can potentially cause permanent damage to cell phones.

  • Infrared saunas use thermal radiation to heat the body directly, rather than heating the surrounding air. This allows them to operate on a lower temperature heat than typical saunas, while still maximizing the benefits. The temperature of the sauna will range from 120 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on your preference, frequency, and individual needs.

  • Feel free to come as you are! We will provide towels and water. You are welcome to bring something to read or your own water bottle.
